बिहीबारबाट सुरु भएको एकदिवसीय विश्वकप क्रिकेटमा पूर्वविजेता पाकिस्तानले खराब सुरुवात गरेको छ । शुक्रबार इंग्ल्यान्डको नटिङघममा भएको खेलमा पाकिस्तान १०५ रनमै अलआउट भएको थियो ।
पहिला ब्याटिङ गरेको पाकिस्तानका कुनै पनि ब्याट्सम्यान वेस्टइन्डिजको धारिलो बलिङसामू क्रिजमा धेरैवेर टिक्न सकेनन् । १०६ रनको लक्ष्य वेस्टइन्डिजले १३.४ ओभरमा ३ विकेट गुमाउँदै भेट्टायो ।
सन् १९९२ पछि पाकिस्तानले विश्वकपमा खराब प्रदर्शन गरेको हो । त्यतिखेर पाकिस्तान ७४ रनमा अलआउट भएको थियो ।
पाकिस्तानका लागि फखर जमान र बाबर अजामले २२ तथा वहाब रियाजले १८ रन बनाउनुबाहेक अन्य कुनैपनि ब्याट्सम्यनले दोहोरो अंकमा स्कोर बनाउन सकेनन् ।
पाकिस्तानको इनिङ ध्वस्त बनाउने क्रममा वेस्टइन्डिजका ओसाने थोमसले सार्वाधिक ४ विकेट लिए भने कप्तान जासन होल्डरले ३ तथा आन्द्रे रसेलले २ विकेट लिए ।
पाकिस्तानले दिएको झिनो लक्ष्य वेस्टइन्डिजले १३.४ ओभरमा भेट्टायो । उसका लागि क्रिस गेलले ५० रन बनाए भने निकोलस पुरुनले ३४ रन बनायो ।
